Conferences

Conferences on ResearchConnectX work in two directions: discovering conferences relevant to your research, and publishing your own events for others to find.

Discovering conferences

Most conferences reach you through Smart Matches — the Academic Conferences tab lists events the AI has matched to your research interests, and your dashboard highlights a recommended conference too.

When a conference catches your eye:

  • View details — dates, location, description and links
  • Add to calendar — drop it straight onto your calendar
  • Download vCard — save the event/organiser details to your contacts

Use the conference filters in Smart Matches to narrow by month, local vs international, and online events.

Publishing your own conference

Running an event? The Conferences page (sidebar) lists conferences you manage, with search and a Published/Draft status filter.

  1. Click Add Conference.
  2. Fill in the details — or use Autofill from event link: paste the URL of the event's website and the AI extracts the title, dates, location and description for you.
  3. Review, adjust, and Publish.

Published = discoverable

Published conferences become visible to other users through AI matching — so the better your description and topics, the more relevant researchers will see it. Drafts stay private to you.
